Heart on the Line
Love is good,
it is never bad, but it will drive you mad, when it's given to you in drips and drabs. |
Juliet, I know how deeply in love you were with Romeo. Love is love and it is inseparable, but it can be perilous. Romeo and you were star-crossed lovers and it was put in a way like that for a purpose. Maybe heaven planned out your life with him, but it was truly one without rest. Love drove you crazy and everybody knew that. You needed to know when to limit yourself in what you were doing. For pete's sake, you killed yourself, Juliet! How could you ever think of doing something like that. You had a noble family, a wealthy household, and you had so many men awaiting for your hand in marriage. Love is patient and love is kind, but love can make you do many things. Oh, Juliet, only if you knew. Now, love will wait for you.
Rhyme: "it is never bad, but it will drive you mad," The use of these rhyming words make it flow in a smooth verse and makes the poem transition fluently. Symbolism: "when it's given to you in drips and drabs." The words drabs is another name for a prostitute and this word gives off a different vibe and connotation than a word like "woman." The word "drabs" in this poem represents how love will make people do things that seem to be impossible. |
