I was now near my cousin Juliet and the Nurse. The rumors I had heard were all true. Romeo and Juliet were in love and they had gotten married! How could Juliet disgrace the Capulet household by marrying a Montague! It was my fault for letting that happen. I should have gotten rid of Romeo the chance I had. Only if my uncle had let me confront him at the party, none of this would have happened. How dare Romeo taint the prominence of our family. Everything Juliet was saying was insane. She was planning to go back to Romeo even after he was banished and planned to give herself to him in the name of love!
As a result of Mercutio's death, I had been killed by Romeo. As my spirit was witnessing everything that was happening, Prince Escalus came to the scene and Benvolio told him everything that happened in all honesty. The Prince was to merciful to Romeo and decided to banish him from Verona, instead of punishing him with death. He was to never show his presence in Verona ever again, but I guess that was also a good thing since that would be able to separate Romeo and Juliet. I was discouraged that my young life had to end that way. I had so many aspirations to behold the Capulet name, but I had cowardly given up that dream by my death. How would my family and friends react? I do not want to cause them any sadness. Damn Romeo and his friends. It was their fault that my family would have to mourn, but I know that they will surely avenge my death.
I went to go have a man to man talk with Romeo, but his impudent friends were there before Romeo was. Mercutio; how childish he is, insulting me. I did no such thing to attack him in any way before he verbally assaulted me. When Romeo finally came, I spoke my mind and Mercutio had nothing to do with our conversation. Romeo kept stating that he had "a reason to love me." How childish can he get? He is disrespecting me and humiliating himself. Mercutio and his words were beginning to get a bit annoying and he had the audacity to challenge "The Queen of Cats" to a duel! He out of every one of his friends should know my skills in swords. So, I could not turn down this opportunity and fought. However, my dexterity with the sword was indeed no match for his puny and incompetent "prowess." Romeo decided to get in between a sword fight and while trying to separate us, I got Mercutio under Romeo's arm and he fell. I did not know what to do as I stood there, watching Mercutio's like dissipate .
